One item of trivia that I found interesting: Althought Rancho is seen as a university student for most of the film, the actor who plays him (Aamir Khan) was 44 years old when the film was made.In real life, he is only 5years younger Boman Irani who actor played “Virus”,the headmaster at Rancho’s school.
One continuity goof I found interesting: When ” Virus explains about the monthly income of Rancho, Farhan and Raju’s parents, the “two” and “five” in the amount written on the board keeps changing shape in every shot.
One factual goof I found interesting: The mobile phones used in the universty period are the ones which were not used in 1998 when the film is set.
The film was about friendship of 3 friends and their success.
I chose this film.Actually about 5 years ago, I watched this movie.I wanted to see the difference between my old perspective and my present perspective.I wanted to interpret the film in a different way.When I first watched, I was more focused on funny items.Now, I can see the irony and the grinding under the scenes.
What I liked about the film were critical point of view and telling people without bothering.I enjoyed every scene.
What I didn’t like about the film was a scene where a successful student got depressed and committed suicide.In fact, thanks to this scene,the film became more meaningful.
It has an award for Popular Award Best Film of Annual Central Europen Bollywood Awards and Award of the International Indian Film Academy
One character I liked is Rancho because he made every sacrifice for his friends.He showed great sincerity and understanding towards to his friends.
One character I didn’t like is Chatur “Silencer” because he made various plays in order to get a high grade and enter the his teachers’s eyes.
My favorite scene was a scene where Farhan asked his father for permisson to drop out engineering to become a photographer.
I would recommed this film to everyone because you will definetely have fun and you will question your place and your purpose in life.
This film showed us we have to do our job lovingly and willingly, not for money or diploma.
